ABOUT ONIEAL REEDS
Dr. Alexander Onieal has over 15 years of professional reed-making experience and has provided countless handmade bassoon reeds to private students during that time. As a freelance musician he has performed with ensembles across the United States including the New York Philharmonic, The Florida Orchestra, Austin, San Antonio, and Santa Fe Symphonies and has held positions with the Tallahassee Symphony, New Mexico and Central Texas Philharmonics. Students in the Onieal Bassoon Studio have been selected for All State ensembles in Texas and New Mexico and accepted to prestigious collegiate music programs around the country. Dr. Onieal holds degrees from Florida State University, The Juilliard School, and the University of Texas at Austin where he served as the Teaching Assistant and instructor for the weekly undergraduate reed class. His primary teachers include Judith LeClair and Jeff Keesecker. Onieal Reeds believes in providing high-quality bassoon reeds to players of all levels. Currently based in Tampa Bay, Florida
Onieal Reeds are made using Rigotti cane in the Herzberg shape, processed by Barton Cane. These Herzberg-style bassoon reeds are constructed prioritizing ease of response and evenness of tone across all registers, perfect for students and professionals alike. Before shipment finished reeds are play tested, sanitized, and securely packaged. Bassoon reed blanks are available for purchase, please inquire about bulk orders. Free Shipping on all orders over $99. Due to the nature of this product, refunds will not be available. Please reach out if your reed is damaged in shipping for replacement.
